Children’s participation in community activities throughout the school year emphasizes that education extends beyond the school’s walls and teaches them about citizenship in a larger community.

Community contributions include:

Annual holiday food drive
Each December we hold a Food Drive for local Food Banks. As well, we sponsor a family during the holiday season.

MS Read-a-thon
Students have read books to raise money, and awareness, for MS.

Snowsuit Fund
Students collect mittens for needy children.

UNICEF
In October we do school wide activities to raise money for UNICEF and sponsor children in other parts of the world.

Visiting Seniors Residences
We visit local Senior’s Residences on various holiday occasions throughout the year.

School “twinning”
We have twinned up with schools in other communities, providing support and learning about challenges that other schools face.
