What are the school hours?
- Nursery School Hours - 9:00 am to 11:30 am and 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
- Morning JK hours - 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
- Full day JK hours - 9:00 am - 3:10 pm
- Full day SK hours - 9:00 am - 3:10pm
- Grade School Hours - 8:30 am to 3:10 pm
- Yard supervision begins at 8:00 am each morning.
- Before school care begins at 8:00 am (additional fees apply).
- After school care runs until 5:30 pm (additional fees apply).
Are there extra curricular activities?

Extra curricular activities such as dance, French
clubs, sports, and science clubs are available each term, after
school (additional fees apply).
When do you begin French instruction?
- Core French - JK to grade 6
- Extended French - Grade 3 to 6 (Levels 1 + 2)
What do students do for field trips?
- Field trips are organized throughout the course of the year for
children in JK to Grade 6. These field trips reinforce the curriculum
during or immediately following a unit. Examples: national museums,
theater and music performances, local businesses, community outings.

What is the lunch routine?
- Students who stay for lunch must bring a nutritious lunch to school.
- Fern Hill School is a nut-free environment. We ask
that parents and students be aware of the ingredients of the
food/snacks that are brought to school.

- Fern Hill School is located at 50 Vaughan Street in New Edinburgh, Ottawa.
- Easy access from the Rockliffe and Vanier Parkways and many bike paths.
- Close to Parliament Hill, Canadian Foreign Affairs offices and many diplomatic missions.
Is transportation provided?
- Parents are responsible for their child's transportation to and from school.
