Holiday Food Drive and Mitten Tree

Fern Hill School will begin collecting non-perishable and canned food items staring November 23rd to December 11th, to donate to the local Food Bank.

We will also be collecting new and gently used mittens and hats to be sent to the Ottawa Snowsuit Fund.  A "Mitten Tree" will be placed on the 2nd floor of the school to hang your donated mittens and hats on.  The children love watching the tree fill up with their colorful donated mittens and hats during the holiday season.  Through exploration of the delightful story "The Mitten Tree", written by Candace Christiansen, the children will be inspired to add to Fern Hill School's tree.
