Preschool Program

Music is an integral component, beginning in the two-year-old program and built carefully upon throughout the Fern Hill experience. 

Kindergarten Program

Building on the music program offered in the preschool, an introduction to Core French, and Physical Education are added to the curriculum in JK and SK.

Grade School

Frequent enrichment activities including field trips, integration of technology and hands on learning experiences enhance the Grade School learning experience.  Excellence in communication is a theme developed from preschool through grade school with frequent and authentic writing, reading and public speaking opportunities built into every classroom program.

French

  • Enriched Core French Program - Grades 1 - 6
  • Extended French Program (Level 1 +2)
    • This program offers the opportunity to receive French instruction in other subjects (other than French), such as Social Studies and Drama.  In Level 1, the teacher speaks French most of the time and the students are expected to speak a good level of French during class.  In Level 2, the teacher speaks French all of the time and the students are expected to speak a high level of French during classroom discussions.  In both levels students will complete homework and assignments in French, which will be graded and added to the report card.  Students who are interested need a recommendation from the French teacher to enroll.

Technology

  • Introduction to computers, laptops, and the Internet in Grades 4, 5 and 6
    • Topics include typing, responsible use of the Internet, on-line research, plagiarism, how computers work, word processing, and other computer programs.
Physical Education Program
