One of the perks of being located in Ottawa’s New Edinburgh community is having wonderful amenities like the local public library right in our neighbourhood. Our Grade 2 students were thrilled to visit the library for the first time, where a librarian showed them how to find books by reading the information on the spine. They learned how to locate junior novels and picture books, and how to tell the difference between fiction and non-fiction. The highlight of the visit was using their very own library cards to sign out two books each. They’re already looking forward to their next visit!
