Learning About Clean Water Through Nibi’s Water Song

Our younger Hawks are learning why clean water matters to everyone!
To deepen their understanding of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, students enjoyed Let’s Talk Science’s STEM Storytime, featuring Indigenous author Sunshine Tenasco’s book Nibi’s Water Song. They explored the importance of clean water and the challenges many First Nations communities face in accessing safe drinking water.
As part of the Reconciliation Ambearristers initiative, our Grade 2 students named their Spirit Bear Nibi and created water-drop pendants to represent their promises to care for water and be voices for clean water for all.
