Our Grade 2 students and some amazing parent volunteers, made over 60 bagged lunches for Highjinx in Ottawa—a local organization dedicated to helping neighbours in need. Each bag included a meat and cheese or WowButter and jam sandwich, an apple, a banana, Bear Paw cookies, and a juice box. The students also created handmade cards to include in each bag to help brighten someone’s day. This hands-on initiative encourages our students to give back, show empathy, and connect with their community in meaningful ways. A big thank you to our wonderful volunteers for making this experience possible! If you’re in Ottawa and want to learn more about Highjinx’s mission of providing food, furniture and household items to neighbours in need, check them out at 290 Kent St. — together, we can make a difference.
